411 Sketch

Friends of ours just had a beautiful baby boy. I took this opportunity to use the sketch challenge from the Stampin 411 blog http://stamping411.blogspot.com/ to make a card for them.
The picture quality is not the best (I am not the best with photographing) but I think you get the point *I hope*

Thanks for stopping by!!

Another Halloween Treat

These peppermint pattie "sandwiches" are everywhere on the internet. I think they are the perfect Halloween treat for a teacher, neighbor or friend, don't you think??

Lil Boo Pail

I just love Halloween, especially the treats you get. I made this little pail for a friend's daughter and put some mini playdough containers in it. The stamp set is from Stampin Up and it is called "Little Boo." I think he is soo cute and I just love the name of the stamp.

Frankie, Frannie and Mummy

So, these boxes are everywhere on the internet. I found some here http://gretchenbarron.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/09/frankie-friends-are-back-as-a-classonthego-kit.html I made the Frankie one with my upline, Selene, at our scrapbooking class. I just love the way they turned out. I filled them with treats for my nieces and some good friend's children.

I changed Frannies eyes into hearts because she is in love with Frankie, can't you tell??

Thanksgiving

So, with Thanksgiving coming up soon, I wanted to make something cute for my table setting. I found these online http://inkingidaho.blogspot.com/2008/11/joyces-turkeys.html. I am going to attempt to make the boxes for my table setting but I did make a card using the turkey for my monthly team meeting that my upline, Selene Kempton, provides us with. You should check out her blog. She has some really great ideas! http://stampinfunwithselene.blogspot.com/

Stampin UP Regionals

So, yesterday was the Stampin Up Regional Conference that took place in Portland, Maine. It was my very first Regional conference and I really enjoyed it. It was really fun to see all of the excited demonstrators, the fantastic presentations and, the best part, I thought, was swapping our swaps that demonstrators made. Here is my swap.

Twas the Night Before Christmas . . . well, not really

So, I got this new stamp set called Wandering Words from Stampin UP and it has this really cute stamp with Santa and his reindeer flying in the air and I immediately thought that this would be really cute in a card. I kept picturing the scene from the poem Twas the Night Before Christmas "The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below."

I wanted to recreate that scene. So, this is what I came up with. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Karen

Hello Again!

So sorry, I've been sooo busy. Sometimes it is hard to get into the stamp room and make time for myself. But, I am back and, hopefully, with the holidays coming up I can find more time for my stamping.

So, here is a card that I made for the Stamping 411 blog. http://stamping411.blogspot.com/2009/10/saturday-sketch-challenge-119.html

I used Elegant Eggplant and Pumpkin Pie cardstock and Designer Series Paper from Autumn Traditions. The pumpkin stamp is from the Autumn Harvest stamp set and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used my pastels to color in the pumpkins.
I hope you enjoy.

Another Sketch Challenge

Boy, am I loving the sketch challenges from the Stamping 411 blog. It gets my creative juices flowing and into my stamp room. The design operators are very helpful and one just happens to be my fabulous upline, Selene Kempton :-)

So, a good friend of mine has a birthday coming up. The Cheers to You stamp set is a perfect fit for him - we both love a good martini (or two)!! I started with Always Artichoke as my card layer and Baja Blue as my second layer. I ran the blue through my Big Shot using the Distressed Sizzix texture plate - I thought it looked manly. Then I used the Manchester Designer Series Paper and added some kraft ribbon. Oh - and I added some crystal effects to the "drink" part.

What do you think? When he receives the card, will I be invited to his house for a martini??

Have a great night and check out the Stamping 411 blog!
